An impression tray is a container specially made for taking dental impressions, therefore it consists of a body, to contain the different existing impression materials, which will have a suitable shape adapted to the oral anatomy, varying according to the upper or lower arch. These trays also consist of a handle that will allow the dentist or dental hygienist to hold the tray to bring it to the patient's mouth, so this handle should not interfere with the functionality of the impression tray.
